Promoting higher education in Delhi with focus on professional education namely engineering, information technology, management studies, education and law.

Co-ordinate research activities in philosophy, encourage programmes of interdisciplinary research, promote teaching & research in philosophy and give financial support to institutions & organisations engaged in the conduct of research on philosophy.

Ppromote, develop and propagate urdu language and also undertake the production of literature in urdu language including books on science & other branches of modern knowledge, children's literature textbooks, reference works, encyclopaedia and dictionaries.

Coordinate and monitor teacher education & its development in the country and promote & conduct innovation and research in various areas of teacher education.

Promote qualitative improvement of school education, organize extension services for institutions that are engaged in educational research & training of teachers or have extension services to schools and also undertake the preparation & publication of books, materials, periodicals & other literature.
